Gain a framework for providing trauma-informed services in any setting where traumatized persons are encountered. Cover the effects of traumatic stress; the therapeutic relationship; treatment planning as well as evidenced-based and promising practices; basics of self-care and vicarious traumatization management; and symptom management skills to address traumatic stress and dissociative symptoms. Woven throughout the workshop are trauma-informed methods for promoting ethical, culturally competent care, promoting cooperative relationships among community partners, and application of universal psychological precautions. This workshop is appropriate for practitioners across the service sector and consumers, advocates, and those who wish to become familiar with state-of-the-art trauma-informed services.
